Personal Training & Group Fitness

Picture
Christina Basye- I like muscles. Men and women both are designed with muscles. I enjoy helping develop muscles. Its more than a workout- its a catalyst to reach your potential! So often people come to me shrinking themselves and through a workout program, I help them to see they are stronger than they believe. Developed muscles are the reward for hard work, dedication and commitment which are the cornerstones of life.

Chris Disterdick- I was very active growing up, not having to worry about protein, veggies and carbs. I played football, baseball and ran track in high school and was fortunate enough to play college baseball at UCA in Conway. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps and got to travel the world. When I got out, my physical fitness went on a complete nosedive. I gained 100 pounds and carried that around with me for over 20 years. Finally, in 2017 at 300 lbs, I realized that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. So my fitness journey led me to BAC. Only a couple of months after we opened, I was hooked on spin. I used to spin in a hoodie just to try to burn more fat. Shortly after that I was approached asking if I would be interested in teaching. I was 100% on board. I'm known for tough, challenging and fun classes and if you are not drenched in sweat leaving one of my classes, then I wasn't doing my job. Me doing my small part in helping someone achieve their fitness goals makes every drop of sweat worth leaving on the floor at BAC and is why I love teaching. Hearing people moan and groan means I'm doing something right or people wouldn't still show up. When I'm not teaching at BAC, I cook BBQ competitively, I'm an ordained minister, referee high school football, avid golfer and play in a table tennis league.

Justin Dorathy- I love to be outside on a hike, bike ride, or a run! Exercise isn't an activity- it is a way of life. Your body is the place you live so taking care of it isn't an option. It's a priority. I like to vary routines and see what my body can do. That's why I like to train. Helping someone reach their goals is satisfying. I understand struggling to gain muscle. That is why I got certified in nutrition because what you put into your body determines what you can get out of your body. My goal in fitness is to help others achieve more than they think they can.

I have always been an active person and have loved playing sports, especially basketball in high school. However, that love for sports took a wear and tear on my body and resulted in multiple knee surgeries. As I have gotten older I have had difficulty finding workouts and activities that do not cause stress on my knee joints, that is until I found SPIN! It is a great low impact cardio and strength training class that I can go all out in and not put stress on my knees. So instead of focusing on what my body says I can't do... I am enjoying pushing it to do what I thought I couldn't in a way that keeps it healthy.

Tony Lockhart- I've always played sports. I've always been active. I love to help young athletes find their full potential. Training isn't only about knowledge. It's about motivation. It's about discipline. It's a mind over body mentality. I love to come along side and help them push through to the finish. I love to lift. I love to play ball. Most of all, I want to leave people with a sense of accomplishment within themselves.

Amanda Martin- I am from Beebe. Attended Harding University in Searcy. My degree is in Education and Family & Consumer Science. I have always enjoyed fitness and nutrition. For me, exercise is not only about the physical benefit but mostly about the social and emotional benefit. I have been at home with my family for the past 17 years homeschooling our 3 children. I love to read, travel, exercise, cook, and spend time with my family and friends. I am so thankful and excited to be working for Beebe Athletic Club!

Stephanie McMillion- I am the wife of an Air Force Master Sargent and a mother of two beautiful, crazy girls!! I discovered spin after having my first daughter and wasn't able to lose the baby weight. I became hooked and love the workout and was able to lose all the baby weight! I took classes for about two years before I decided that I wanted to be an instructor. My drive to be an instructor was that I was able to help others reach their physical and mental goals. I became spin certified in 2013 while living in Maryland and taught class there for 5 years. I loved every minute of it! We moved to Arkansas in 2018 and right away I was on the hunt for a gym that has classes, child care and equipment. BAC is the best gym in the area that has all of that PLUS feels like a family!! I teach Spin 3-5 times a week and I just love finding a variety of music that really pumps everyone up! One of my favorite things about my class is the energy. The energy in class makes it so fun that you forget you are working out! If you are looking for a fun workout, with all kinds of great music, I would love to see you in my spin class!!

Josh Patterson- About 3 years ago, one of my good friends invited me to train for a 5K. Training for that 5k totally changed my fitness goals. All the classes that BAC offers really changed my fitness level and allowed me to run faster and longer. I love the community we have here and enjoy helping people reach their fitness goals! Because of how great the community is here, I was motivated to begin teaching Penalty Box and a running class- two of my favorites! Prior to teaching, I took lots of classes and during that time, I learned so many new things. I found that I really like things like Zumba and Barre. I also found that I love Yoga and look forward to teaching it soon!!

Cari Rector- I grew up loving physical activity. I decided I wanted to run track in 7th grade because I wanted to lift weights; I quickly learned that I loved the running part even more. After I graduated from Beebe High School, I attended Hendrix College where I ran track and obtained a bachelors degree in Kinesiology. I coached varsity track and cross country for 13 years, and I am now a school counselor at Beebe Middle School. I wholeheartedly believe that fitness is an integral part of our lives- not only physically but mentally as well. Being a part of the Beebe Athletic Club family is so important to me, and I hope it is for you as well. I am married to my husband, Tate, and we have two little boys, Brody and Reed. When we are not working or working out at BAC, we enjoy hunting, fishing, and relaxing at the lake.

Lisa Smith- I am a certified Zumba teacher. The thrill of the dance is great for me. Of course, I am no lightweight. I also love a good burpee, which is why I teach Zumba STRONG! I am a teacher and a mom. Having an active lifestyle helps me to keep up with my children and also it gives me a chance for some me time and a sense of accomplishment. I love to encourage, teach, and hopefully inspire a room full of students to reach their full potential.

Paige Spillman- Since I was a kid, I have always loved to be active and to exercise- even doing Richard Simmons videos with my friends in elementary school. Being able to design and lead classes that challenge people to work hard and to build strength physically and mentally is an awesome feeling and something I am grateful to do. What better place to better yourself, than with those who are working towards the same goals and cheering you on!

Picture
Nikki Summerlin- I love inspiring others to keep pushing just a little bit more when they feel like giving up, just like my instructors did for me. I love to see the smiles on their faces and the happiness they show in class. I got into fitness after I had been battling with anxiety and depression. I had seen one of my friends who was an instructor post on her social media page advertising about her class the next morning. So I prayed about it and decided 'ok. I CAN do this!!' After that one class, I was hooked. I love Zumba and all things fitness. I only had my Zumba certification for a few weeks when a friend of mine called me saying that she gave my info to someone at BAC. That week I got a call from BAC and after being in shock, praying and talking about it with my husband, I accepted. I am so grateful that I accepted. I love the staff and participants! Everyone here is so nice and encouraging. BAC feels like a second home!! Outside of my day job and teaching Zumba, I love being a wife to my amazingly supportive husband Aaron and a mommy to our two beautiful kids Alison and Noah. As a family, we love trail riding on our SXS and bike rides!
